Karen brings more than 35 years of policy advocacy and public service experience, advancing energy justice and tackling climate change by accelerating access to clean, affordable and efficient energy for all. She leads CSE’s Distributed Energy Resources group that leads California’s Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) and San Diego’s Solar Equity programs as well as SDG&E’s Self Generation Incentive (SGIP) program. Prior positions include Director of Efficiency Vermont, VEIC’s Director of Transportation Efficiency, and Director of Strategy, Policy, and Public Affairs. She is also past director of the University of Vermont’s National University Transportation Center and served as acting Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and
Director of Policy and Planning at the Vermont Agency of Transportation where she first began working on electric vehicles and the transportation and energy nexus. She served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives and the Jericho Elementary school board.
