Andrew Gilligan is Director of Commercial Strategy at Fluence. In this role, he oversees commercial strategy and market development providing a key interface between regional sales teams and global product, and technology organizations. He builds out Fluence’s internal view of the battery energy storage system (BESS) market and evaluates new commercial opportunities and go to market strategies for profitable growth. Prior to Fluence, Andrew worked for over ten years at Sol Systems where he helped lead Sol Systems from a start-up company to one of the leading solar development and finance firms in North America that has successfully delivered over 1 GW of solar and storage projects. At different points, he was the leader of the investments, development, and distributed generation business units within Sol Systems, ultimately closing over $1B USD of solar and storage projects. Andrew is adjunct professor at Georgetown University teaching a course on the energy industry and was named to Forbes 30 under 30 for the Energy Industry for 2019.
