While the lithium-ion storage industry continues to improve safety codes and standards and build a better understanding of safety best practices, high-profile storage safety events have led to increased public and policymaker attention on li-ion storage safety. If not actively addressed, concerns about safety may pose a challenge to expanding energy storage at the pace needed to meet clean energy goals. In this session, industry leaders will discuss the changes coming from local, state, and federal governments to bolster storage safety, and what these developments mean for the private sector. Panelists will also highlight best practices companies can follow in project design, asset monitoring, event response, and public outreach to ensure that li-ion storage can continue to play a major role in the energy transition.
