SOLARCYCLE Recycled 480,000+ Solar Panels Last Year

Solar panel recycling company SOLARCYCLE® has shared its annual impact data for 2024.

The company recycled 480,406 solar panels, diverted 28,071,002 pounds of waste from landfills, and prevented 13,798,949 kilograms of carbon emissions last year alone.

Other notable accomplishments include expanding its workforce by 110%, increasing recycling capacity by 228%, and bringing its total equity funding to over $80 million from investors including Microsoft, Fifth Wall, HG Ventures, Prologis Ventures, Closed Loop Partners, and Urban Innovation Fund.

SOLARCYCLE’s growth was made possible by several milestones throughout the year, including expanding its landmark facility in Odessa, Texas, where the company doubled its panel recycling capacity and increased the purity of its material outputs by adding two next-generation processing lines.

It also broke ground on the first-of-its-kind Circular Solar Campus, a solar glass factory and co-located recycling facility in Cedartown, Georgia. Once finished, it will have the capacity to process 10 million panels per year and manufacture 5-6 GW of solar glass.

“Scalable, credible, and advanced solar panel recycling is key to our country’s energy and manufacturing goals. Our work is to make sure valuable materials from retired solar panels stay in the domestic supply chain and out of landfills,” said Suvi Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder at SOLARCYCLE, in a statement.
