Virginia Klausmeier

Virginia Klausmeier

Virginia Klausmeier is the President and CEO of Sylvatex, Inc., a climate tech company she founded in 2012 and funded in 2014. With a mission to reshape the electric vehicle and energy storage battery industry, Sylvatex is making battery production more efficient and sustainable by reducing resource and energy use in cathode manufacturing. Under Virginia’s leadership, the company has attracted significant venture funding and is playing a key role in the global shift toward cleaner energy solutions.

With over 15 years of experience in chemistry and engineering, Virginia has led both technical and business teams to success. She is an influential figure beyond Sylvatex, actively collaborating with national laboratories, serving as a reviewer for prestigious scientific awards and grants, and providing strategic counsel to climate tech ventures and minority-led organizations. Virginia’s dedication to advancing innovation is exemplified by her fellowships with All Raise and Unreasonable Group, aligning her with thought leaders and pioneers in the field.

Notably, Virginia was recently named “Woman of the Year” for energy in 2024, and she continues to gain recognition for her work, having been featured in over 60 national and global publications. She is also a World Economic Forum (WEF) Technology Pioneer,  solidifying her leadership role in global tech. Virginia’s influence extends to her participation in the Alliance of CEOs, Astia, and E2, further reinforcing her impact on the trajectory of technology and business.

Virginia’s commitment to personal and professional growth is highlighted by her participation in the Executive Program at Singularity University and her completion of the Executive Program in project management and finance for high-growth companies at Development U in 2024. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Economics and an M.S. in Engineering from the University of Oregon, providing the foundation for her work at the intersection of science, technology, and business.
