Selene Lawrence is a clean energy advocate who has worked in the public, nonprofit and private sectors advocating for sustainability. In her current role as Director of Government Affairs for San Diego-based Sullivan Solar Power, Ms. Lawrence advocates for fair renewable energy and labor policy, and programs like Community Choice Energy throughout Southern California. Her previous experience includes the NYC Department of City Planning, where she participated in a citywide inter-agency initiative to produce resiliency planning for areas threatened by climate change, specifically sea-level rise. She has served as an analyst for the Governance and Accountability Institute, measuring corporate responsibility and compliance for some of the largest companies in the U.S, while reporting on current sustainability trends. Additionally, at the American Geographical Society, she appealed to leaders in business, academia, government and nonprofit agencies to frame the national discussion of the growing importance of geography and geospatial tools in environmental conservation.
