Robinson Meyer is the founding executive editor of Heatmap News, a media company focused on decarbonization and climate change. He is also the co-host of Heatmap’s podcast, Shift Key, and a contributing Opinion writer at The New York Times.
Meyer was previously a staff writer at The Atlantic, where he covered climate change, science, and technology. In March 2020, he co-founded the COVID Tracking Project, an award-winning volunteer effort that collected coronavirus data from every U.S. state and territory. The project’s data was cited in more than 1,000 academic papers, used by two presidential administrations, and reported on in more than 7,700 news stories. Meyer was named to the Bloomberg Businessweek 50 in 2020. Three years later, Meyer was named to Vox’s Future Perfect 50, a list of “the scientists, thinkers, scholars, writers, and activists working on solutions to today’s biggest problems.” He lives in New York.
