Michael Liu is a Staff Battery Engineer at Sila Nanotechnologies, where he leads technical efforts in commercialization of Sila’s Titan Silicon anode materal for all automotive programs. Specializing in battery cell design, materials development, and large-volume manufacturing, Michael draws on extensive experience from previous roles in Cell Engineering at Apple—delivering batteries from clean sheet to mass production for multiple product lines. In addition, he serves as Managing Director for Battery Forum at the Volta Foundation, leading the largest monthly web conference in the battery industry, and is an author of the Volta’s annual Battery Report on batteries for EV, light, and heavy transport. Through these endeavors, Michael champions innovation in energy storage and works closely with cell manufacturers and OEMs to qualify cutting-edge materials for electrified mobility and beyond.
