Craig Overmiller

Craig Overmiller

Craig Overmiller has been in the renewable energy field for over 30 years. He created Texas Solar Power Company in 1993 and incorporated in 1996. He graduated from Texas A&M, College Station, with a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Construction Management. Craig saw a need for home and business owners to be less dependent on energy companies. He determined that solar was the most viable option to achieve that goal. His personal interest and conviction led him to become a leader in Central Texas by helping to grow the solar industry infrastructure. Craig oversaw the creation and installation of several megawatt solar projects establishing a rapport with the Department of Defense, and the same time advising in the evolution of rebate programs in the country and contributing to both public and academic education and awareness of solar power. In addition to leading the Texas Solar Power Company team of professional designers and installers; Craig grew the company to a revenue 30 million dollars per year with a work force of 97 employees. Craig helped to developed the Solar Program at Austin Community College, and was the Chair of Applied Electrical and Mechanical Department and is currently Program Director of Power Generation and Alternative Energy at St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, Texas thus creating and helping to train tomorrow’s solar workforce. He is a NABCEP PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER and NABCEP TECHNICAL SALES CERTIFICATE HOLDER. Craig is considered by many as the pioneer of the solar industry in the State of Texas.
