Solar Landscape Partners with NSA to Install Over 100MW of Solar on Building Rooftops

Commercial and community solar developer Solar Landscape is renting 8.5 million square feet of roof space from the National Storage Affiliates Trust’s (NSA) buildings in 46 states and Puerto Rico to create a 100MW+ solar farm.

The solar panels in the project will cover about 1,000 of NSA’s self-storage properties.

The NSA is one of the largest self-storage operators in the country, with brands like iStorage, Move It, Northwest and SecurCare.

The power produced by the solar farm will provide power for NSA’s facilities, in addition to nearby homes and businesses at a discounted price.

According to Electrek, Solar Landscape will take ownership of the solar systems and handle the development and operations. NSA will benefit from monthly lease payments.

“Community solar is a win-win-win: It reduces the carbon footprint for communities, offers clean energy at a discount for residents, and creates revenue for property owners,” said Solar Landscape CEO and cofounder Shaun Keegan, in a statement.
