SEG Solar Partners with Talon PV to Bolster Domestic Solar Manufacturing

Leading U.S. solar PV manufacturer SEG Solar has formed a strategic partnership with U.S. solar cell manufacturer Talon PV in which Talon will supply high-performance N-type solar cells to SEG beginning in Q1 2026.

Talon cells in SEG modules would increase the amount of domestic content in SEG’s PV module products and allow the company to be able to fully claim “Made in America” status for its PV module products.

It will also significantly mitigate any risk of delays caused by importing foreign silicone-based components.

SEG’s Houston, Texas module factory began operations in 2024; by the end of February 2026, its second production line will be fully commissioned and operational. It will enable SEG to produce up to 2GW of modules annually.

SEG focuses on providing efficient, reliable solutions and more competitive products for the U.S. market; this partnership with Talon PV will further advance that initiative. SEG and Talon PV look forward to providing customers with a more stable and sustainable local product supply, improving supply efficiency, and further expanding SEG’s market to meet the needs of local customers and partners.

“Cooperation with Talon is of great strategic importance to SEG. Talon’s high-performance, reliable cell products align perfectly with SEG’s commitment to quality. As U.S.-based manufacturers, we share a responsibility to drive the resurgence of American manufacturing and support local job creation,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG, in a statement. “This partnership strengthens our Houston, Texas operations, furthering our efforts to expand domestic production capacity and deliver high-quality solar products to American customers. With the support of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), this collaboration will not only enhance our product competitiveness but also accelerate the growth of clean energy jobs in our community.”
