Lamppost EV Charging Company Voltpost to Debut in Major US Cities This Spring

Lamppost electric vehicle charging company Voltpost has announced the commercial availability of its award-winning curbside EV charging solution in major U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago, Detroit, and others, will begin this spring.

The company retrofits lampposts into modular Level 2 EV chargers, providing customers with convenient and affordable charging while reducing installation costs, maintenance, and carbon footprint.

The lamppost charging platform is especially valuable for EV drivers who lack access to dedicated parking spaces and chargers, such as multi-unit housing residents and those in urban areas.

What sets Voltpost apart from other curbside charging solutions is its rapid installation time, which is completed at a fraction of the cost with zero construction, trenching, or extensive permitting processes.

In 2023, Voltpost participated in the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Studio program, which saw the company contribute to the city’s goal of installing 10,000 curbside chargers.

“Voltpost is striving to make EV chargers as common as the traditional lamppost. We are empowering people with convenient and affordable charging access that fits into the fabric of the built environment,” said Jeff Prosserman, Co-Founder and CEO of Voltpost, in a statement. “As we bring our differentiated curbside and parking lot charging solution to market, we are confident that Voltpost will build more sustainable and resilient communities by decarbonizing mobility.”
