FLO, Metro to Install Public EV Fast Chargers Across Quebec and Ontario

North American EV charging company FLO has partnered with Metro Inc. to provide fast chargers at over 130 Metro, Super C, Food Basics, and Marché Adonis grocery stores throughout Quebec and Ontario.

500 fast charging ports will be installed, beginning in August, to provide EV drivers with access to fast charging in convenient and accessible places.

The installations are supported in large part by FLO’s partnership with Canadian Infrastructure Bank (CIB), which committed C$235 million to bringing over 1,900 public fast charging ports online across Canada by 2027.

The selected grocery stores will feature the new dual port FLO Ultra fast charger, complete with up to 320 kW of available power. The chargers are capable of charging most new EVs to 80% in 15 minutes. Its flexible and modular design plus extended cable length allows for charging on one or both sides and caters to all types of makes and models of EVs.

“This partnership is about integrating the best EV charging experience into daily life and making it as routine as grocery shopping,” said Louis Tremblay, FLO President and CEO, in a statement. “Making public charging options widely available is key for Canada to achieve its environmental goals and transition to an emission-free transportation sector. By establishing fast charging stations at more than 130 grocery stores across Quebec and Ontario, we’re laying the groundwork to accelerate the transition.”
