John O. Borland received his BS and MS degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published over 140 technical and invited papers in the areas of advanced semiconductor device manufacturing techniques, high efficiency c-Si solar cells and residential solar-PV systems achieving 100% renewable energy economically. He has also been awarded 6 patents. He is President of J.O.B. Technologies, a strategic technical marketing consulting company providing services to both the semiconductor industry in the area of advanced front end of line process technology with the current focus on 7 nm and 5 nm technology for next generation smartphones and the solar industry for high efficiency solar cells and cost savings for residential rooftop solar systems. He is a member of the Electrochemical Society, senior member of IEEE, the IEEE region 6 central area sections chair, past-chair of the IEEE Hawaii section, IEEE joint EDS/SSCS Hawaii chapter chair and IEEE Power and Energy Society Hawaii chapter chair. He has presented and published his recent results on rooftop solar-PV + multi-storage around the world at IEEE PVSC-44 June 2017, EU-PVSEC Sep 2017, PVSEC-27 Nov 2017, Renewable Energy World Aug 2017, Wiliki Dec 2017 and 7th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion June 2018.
