An expert solar energy and building science, Rudy has enhanced his 23 years of construction experience with extensive training in building science and construction management. As an experienced inspector and auditor, he holds numerous certifications including BPI QAP/EP/HP/AC/MF, Level II Thermography, and NABCEP PV Installation Professional.
Rudy sat as the SME Committee Chair to develop the NABCEP PV System Inspector certification that was made available to the solar industry in 2016. Rudy has garnered substantial insight into the PV System inspector certification process through his experience managing the rapid growth in the IBTS Solar QA program. In IBTS’s solar program, Rudy manages 40+ inspectors in over 20 states across the nation to complete over 3000 Solar PV QA inspections annually. For the last ten years at IBTS, Mr. Saporite has managed a team of certified individuals in more than thirty states across the nation overseeing the completion of more than 75,000 inspections, and more than 30,000 desktop reviews during that time. Mr. Saporite leads IBTS’s software development project to provide quality management tools and data to the PV industry, and he provides training and program support for local governments and municipalities throughout the nation including plan review and technical services, performance verification, and program compliance for organizations like NYSERDA, and MassCEC.
