This all-day tour — happening the Friday, 14th after Intersolar closes—will offer a unique opportunity to see truly cutting-edge solar, hydrogen, microturbine, microgrid, battery, and electronic controls technology AND sample some Napa area wines! First we will stop at Far Niente Winery to tour their beautiful floating solar array and taste delicious wine. In 2008, Far Niente went solar in a revolutionary way with a Floatovoltaic™ system, becoming the first in the world to float a significant, grid-connected solar installation. Then we will continue to Stone Edge Farm for lunch, wine-tasting, and a tour of their jaw-dropping microgrid project. Stone Edge and its team of engineers from around the world are researching how to be self-sufficient in energy supply for all their needs, including making wine. To get a glimpse of the incredibly important work Stone Edge Farm is doing, check out their “Prezi” presentation: prezi.com/rvuw6efggdfd/sef-microgrid-project-qr/.
Join us for a unique, educational, and relaxing way to end the conference week. This is a tour you won’t want to miss!
